I Love You, Te Quiero

With love in the air and Valentine’s Day around the corner, we feel it even more. We would like to share with you some of our love to you in the form of poems. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Young Love

By Michael DelRio

Never thought I would meet love young

It really felt like love at first sight but almost hard to believe Then I heard her speak

Heard her laugh

Held her hand and never wanted to let go

When she rest her eyes on mine I get lost and

My hands gets sweaty cause I’m so nervous To what is to come next

“She is outta your league”

“I’m just a goofy nerd”

“Why you nervous it’s just a…”

Kiss

Her lips felt like pillows with a gentle touch

And her eyes begin to fill more with blue

As the sky fills with snow flakes

She tells me she loves me and kisses me again My heart is bumping million miles per hour

“Just say it”

“Be brave this one time”

“I Love You Too” and reach in for one more kiss Again never thought I would find love so young

The cold breeze from the wind shakes my knees

Alerting me to take cover from the dark months ahead

I walk faster to get home to you

Thoughts of comfort arise as I let a big sigh

Reminded of the bumble bee that flies into the warmer part of my mind

how they die after just trying to survive, one sting is enough for a lifetime

that’s how I felt after she came into sight

stung with the affection of eyes so bright

brown and not in the least bit ordinary

she is the sky and the moon

the ground and the sea

the river that’s roars underneath

the queen of my hive and I her bumble bee

flying home to warmth with you

I Love Her

By Justine Ryan

I love her

From the way she feels to the way she talks I love her.

I love the way she walks and the way she talks.

Her body is filled with imperfections but they are beautiful. A masterpiece I couldn’t create even on my best day.

I love her smile, her frown and even you scold.

She is harsh on me but it’s because she loves me and She’s my biggest fan!!!

That is why I love her.

At times I neglect her and don’t treat her right

but when I do she brightens up and and is as high as a kyte.

When she looks good, I even slap her on the ass

so she know she is sexy with or without class

I talk to God about her, daily

because she needs all the guidance she can get

This is how you love a women so deeply

But most importantly this is how I love ME!

For You, From Me

By Gabriela Arroyo

Your eyes are the first I remember

They are the deer eyes looking through the woods

Your pieces are the puzzles we make together

Figuring out the corners and weird edges

Our life together is a film projector

Showing our moments through light

You awaken the fires in me and I cool down yours

I want you to sit by me tomorrow and always

Your lips taste like a thousand emotions that have yet to be named.

If my heart had a tune, it would be a deep shade of red.

Your touch sends my senses to places I’ve only ever seen in movies.

This faithless man has a reason to believe in miracles because I have found my saving grace.

I tend to look at life through rose colored lenses

Sometimes I overload my senses.

I love deeply,

and care completely.

Love in all forms.

I love myself.

And the ones I surround myself with.

I love art,

From artists to the big screen.

I love nature

And the way it makes me feel peaceful.

I’m a dreamer.

Oh and I love the moon.

I love you like Oprah loves giveaways,

I love you like Evangelicals love tellin you those donations will help you ease your pain,

I love you like sad songs love rain and staring out of window panes.

I love you even at the hardest of times.

The long nights, fights

And being the target for snide comments.

But with you, I'm fine.

Calm.

In your arms,

Worries and quarrels disappear

And can do me no harm.

I love to rinse and repeat.

I love that it only takes

A single glance to forget all about a shitty week.

I love that when I wake up,

You’re the first thing I see.

I love you like I wanna love me.

Love isn’t something that comes easy

To my timid tongue.

Like tellin’ myself to

 keep it cool

And live it up.

Drains me like giving blood,

But filling like November’s breeze.

Forget about you?

I could never, please.

My love for you is unconditional,

And if I'm honest, undeserved.

But I’m not just any bee on a petal,

And you’re not just any bird.

I can try to put together many words,

sentences, monologues,

To try to do it justice.

But I tend to get lost in how intricate

Love is,

And how blessed I am to have one like mine.

I’m yours, truly,

And I love you like everyone loves a cheesy ending line.
