Arrivals & Salidas Program

Play by Latinx Theatre Project

Director’s Notes

Facing loss, it's genuinely a common phenomenon for animals like us; we all walk around together missing someone important in our life. However, it feels like a lonely journey. An irreplicable pain that is such a costume made for you.  It's a communal life thing that just happens. Grief drains you, of energy, from time, from what used to be normal - if you are alone. It will be lonely if you think about it as a lonely club. If you let culture and traditions embrace you, death will be that thing that happens because it has to happen for us to live. Nevertheless, it's hard, but a little bit more normal when many people are doing that normal thing.

I have been privileged to direct the members of the Latinx Theater Project for the beautiful production, they have built it from zero, and now it stands in front of you. Working with each of the talented members of LXTP has been an honor and has helped my own journey with grief.

I am forever grateful for allowing me to participate in the journey.
